1-Day HuntThis property is NOT a part of the Oregon Trail Waterfowl Pass, and will only be open for booking for the first 3 weeks of waterfowl season. This pond will serve as a crucial roosting spot as the months go on and weather gets colder. It is the wish of the landowner and Infinite Outdoors to avoid hunting the roost and pushing birds out of the area for good. Tucked away in the sandhills south of Torrington, this shallow pond provides a rare early-season duck hunting opportunity. The property is only open for a short window each year—from opening day in September through mid-October—because as migration builds, the pond becomes a primary roost site, and the landowner has requested it not be disturbed past that point. Hunters can wade the pond from bank to bank, but be mindful—there are soft spots where you may sink a foot or more. Dogs are strongly recommended here for safe and efficient bird retrieval. No permanent blind is provided, so bring your own setup that fits the conditions. Vehicles must remain on the established road, and please respect posted boundaries during your hunt.
This pond sits in prime sandhill country near the North Platte River flyway and is an excellent early-season spot for ducks. Mallards, teal, and gadwalls are common here in September and early October, taking advantage of the shallow water for loafing and feeding. The pond’s calm setting makes it an attractive stopover for birds moving through before the main push of the migration. Because the water is shallow and surrounded by natural cover, hunters can set up effectively with minimal gear and enjoy consistent early-season action.
Reservation fees are processed at the time of booking and are non-refundable. All outdoorsman fees will process automatically, 48 hours prior to the hunt.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the adventure. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to partial or full ourdoorsman fee charges.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
Youth 13 and under are welcome on the hunt without charge given proper safety etiquette and that they adhere to the party limit size. The group leader assumes responsibility and liability for those minors on the hunt. They are still responsible for all rules set forth in the property agreement.
