Tucked into California's Shasta Valley in Siskiyou County, this 324-acre parcel sits in classic Klamath Basin foothill country — rolling, valley-edge ground carved with small draws, at just under 3,000 feet elevation. Private hunting access in California is rare, and huntable ground with an over-the-counter deer tag is rarer still: Zone C-1 requires no draw, so any hunter holding a general deer tag can book here directly.
This is raw terrain, there's no stand or blind infrastructure in place yet, so plan to still-hunt or spot-and-stalk the draws and cover on foot. A water hole is planned for construction next year, which should help hold deer closer to the property as it comes online. Access and parking are both at the property's bottom-left corner, with game retrieval limited to the two-track road on the west side — no cross-country vehicle travel. From the property's higher ground, hunters get a wide-open view across Shasta Valley to distant Cascade peaks — a scenic bonus on top of the hunting itself.
The property's low-elevation, foothill/valley-edge terrain, rolling ground with small draws rather than big alpine relief, sits in the kind of transition country deer use for both cover and forage in the Klamath Basin. Site photos confirm a mix of open juniper/pinyon woodland with a grass-and-sagebrush understory, plus a rocky rimrock outcrop with scattered juniper that offers genuine bedding and escape cover — a meaningful plus for holding deer on the property rather than just passing through.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
