Notes from the landowner

La Bonte Creek offers a DIY pronghorn hunting opportunity just south of Douglas, Wyoming, providing access to approximately 2,800 acres of private ranchland in Wyoming Area 103. This hunt is focused specifically on doe pronghorn harvest. If a buck hunt is something you desire, please use the buck hunting listing found on the IO platform. All hunters must park at one of the designated parking locations and access the remainder of the property on foot. Please refer to the Infinite Outdoors app for exact parking details. To help minimize disturbance and maintain a quality experience, please limit vehicles at the parking area to no more than two. A mandatory harvest report will be sent to hunters following the conclusion of their hunt. This information helps track harvest success and contributes to responsible wildlife management on the property.

Game and habitat information

The La Bonte Creek property features a mix of open sage flats, rolling prairie hills, and agricultural fields that create classic pronghorn habitat across its 2,800 acres. The wide-open terrain provides the visibility and space antelope prefer, allowing them to move freely across the landscape while using subtle terrain changes and scattered sage cover throughout the property. One of the biggest draws for antelope in this area is the presence of agricultural fields planted in oats and hay/alfalfa mixes. These fields provide some of the only consistent food sources in the surrounding valley, often attracting pronghorn as they move between feeding areas across the open country. While La Bonte Creek runs through portions of the property, antelope typically spend more time in the open sage flats and rolling prairie rather than along the creek itself. Instead, pronghorn in the area rely more heavily on scattered stock tanks located throughout the surrounding landscape, many of which are found on neighboring properties. With dependable water sources nearby and reliable agricultural forage on the ranch, the property offers the combination of food, water, and open terrain that helps support healthy numbers of antelope in the area. Antelope populations in this region of Wyoming are generally stable with strong reproduction rates, supported by healthy doe and fawn numbers across central Wyoming herds. Wildlife managers monitor fawn-to-doe ratios closely, and strong recruitment in recent years has helped maintain solid herd numbers in the area.
