Notes from the landowner

La Bonte Creek is a DIY dove hunting property south of Douglas Wyoming roughly 15 minutes. Here hunters have a chance at filling bag limits and enjoying beautiful scenery. All hunters must park at the single designated parking location and access the remainder of the property on foot. Please refer to the Infinite Outdoors app for exact parking details. To help preserve the experience and minimize disturbance on the property, please limit vehicle numbers to no more than two at the parking area. Hunters are encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunities here - whether that looks like walking the creek bottom and 'flushing' birds, or setting up in the trees with a decoy in the oats, your chances at success here will come in many forms!

Game and habitat information

La Bonte Creek offers a mix of food, water, and tree cover that can attract doves throughout the early season. A key draw on the property is the oat field, which provides a reliable grain food source that doves frequently seek out while feeding. In a valley where consistent food sources can be limited, these planted fields can help concentrate birds as they move through the area. Sections of La Bonte Creek also provide usable watering spots for doves. While much of the creek has steeper banks, there are several areas with shallow pools and gently sloped banks where birds can land, drink, and loaf along the water. Although the property is not located on a major mourning dove migration corridor, good numbers of birds still show up each year. The available food sources, nearby tree cover for perching, and accessible water help attract mourning doves, Eurasian collared doves, and occasional pigeons, especially since the property offers some of the more reliable feeding opportunities in the surrounding valley.

Payment Process

Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Outdoorsman fees will automatically process 48 hours prior to the adventure - it is the responsibility of the party organizer to ensure each hunter is added to the guest list prior to 48 hours so charges may process accordingly.

Cancellation Policy

For waterfowl, fishing, and other small game adventures, cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled adventure will not be charged. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the adventure will be charged the full outdoorsman fee.

Availability

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.

Trespassing

You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
