TurkeyNestled in the rolling hills of Iowa County, this nearly 300 acre turkey hunting property near Marengo offers a rare blend of diverse habitat and proven turkey activity. Situated in Iowa's Turkey Unit 6 and just south of the expansive Iowa River Corridor, the land is tailored to support ideal roosting, strutting, and foraging conditions that Eastern wild turkeys thrive in. Access is fully DIY and booked in 1-day sessions, giving hunters complete independence and time to explore the property. Tree stands are available for use, situated over food plots. However, this property is extremely conducive for spot and stock or set up and call type hunting. The landowner takes a hands-on approach and prefers to give each group a tour of the property the day before their hunt begins, so guests should plan to arrive early to accommodate this. After booking, hunters will receive the landowner’s email in their confirmation message to coordinate arrival and further details. While lodging is not included in the base cost of access, two on-site options are available: a rustic log cabin listed on Airbnb (link in FAQs) and a more basic bunkhouse that sleeps six and includes a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and several couches. There is also a designated camper site with sewer, water, and electric hookups.
Pine Creek Ranch spans nearly 300 acres of rolling hills and lush timber, offering ideal conditions for a high-quality turkey hunt. The property is well-balanced with thick CRP fields, mature hardwoods for roosting, and a combination of food and water sources that support turkey activity throughout the year. Several established food plots, planted in soybeans, corn, sorghum, radishes, and turnips, attract flocks regularly, providing reliable feeding areas during both spring and fall seasons. Water is available from multiple creek bottoms and a pond near the boundary, creating natural travel corridors and consistent habitat that keeps turkeys using the land daily. Gobblers are frequently seen strutting in open clearings and along field edges, especially in the spring, as they move between roosting sites and feeding zones. With a mix of cover, elevation, and access to food and water, Pine Creek Ranch is a strategic and productive location for targeting mature toms throughout the hunting season.
1-day hunt.
