This listing consists of a 40 acre ag pond positioned south of I-25 near the ranch headquarters, east of Glenrock, WY. This pond stays ice-free until the mid season, making it a go-to option for early hunts. Several center-pivot fields surround the pond growing alfalfa and barley, giving birds a dependable feed source right alongside the roost, which keeps numbers strong throughout the season rather than just early on.
Because this property sits close to the ranch headquarters, hunters need to be extra mindful of their surroundings — stay respectful of the buildings and grounds, and hold to the posted 15 mph speed limit on all private roads. Speeding over 15 mph will result in fines. Hunters must follow all State of Wyoming regulations, including licensing, bag limits, and season dates. Waders and a retrieval method are recommended given the pond conditions. All attending parties must be members of Infinite Outdoors to legally access this property.
Waterfowl hunting in this area has been proven to be excellent in this underrated waterfowl state. Expect to see large numbers of waterfowl as the season progresses as birds retreat to the river after standing bodies of water freeze. Be sure to be conscious about property boundaries when setting up a decoy spread and shooting a bird. The pond does get deep in the middle, so a form of game retrieval is highly recommended
