Goodhue Valley Farm offers private archery deer hunting on about 135 acres of farm and timber near Addison, New York, in Steuben County and WMU 8T.
Just north of the Goodhue Creek valley, this piece of a working dairy and beef farm gives deer exactly what they want: hay and crop fields to feed in, with hardwood timber, brushy cover, and wooded drainages to hide in. Those drainages and transitions funnel deer between bedding and food, setting up close shots for a bow or crossbow. As the season moves into November, scrapes line the edges and bucks start cruising for does. Steuben County topped every county in New York for deer harvest in 2025.
One party of up to two hunters has the property for each 3-day hunt, so you are never sharing the woods. Follow the designated farm roads to the access points, and ride an ATV on those roads to reach your spot and recover your deer. Designated camping spots fit a tent or trailer, so you can sleep minutes from your stand.
Tags are over the counter with no draw. A New York hunting license with the bowhunting privilege includes both an antlered and an antlerless deer tag, and crossbows are legal throughout archery season. There is no power or water at the camping spots, but you can fill water jugs on the farm. Food and gas are in Addison, with hotels in Painted Post and Corning.
Goodhue Valley Farm pairs the food deer need with the cover they want. Hay and crop fields draw deer in the evening, while hardwood timber, brushy transitions, and wooded drainages give them bedding and secure travel routes. Bowhunters do best on the edges where the drainages meet the fields. Early in the season deer follow steady food patterns, and once the pre-rut hits in late October, rubs and scrapes appear along the timber and bucks start moving more in daylight.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties, and to continue to put conservation at the forefront, we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them.
2-Day Hunt. By booking the first day of your hunt, you are automatically booked for the following day as well.
New York's spring turkey season runs the entire month of May, with a youth-only weekend in late April. Hunting hours are a half hour before sunrise until noon. Check current season dates at dec.ny.gov before your hunt.
No application needed. You will need a New York hunting license (resident or nonresident) and a turkey permit, which includes carcass tags for spring and fall. Crossbows may be used by hunters 14 and older. Buy online through DECALS at dec.ny.gov, at any license issuing agent, or by phone at 1-866-933-2257.
Each hunter may take two bearded turkeys during the spring season, only one per day. Fill out your carcass tag and attach it to the bird, then report your harvest to DEC through the HuntFishNY app, online at dec.ny.gov, or by phone at 1-866-GAMERPT within the deadline in the current DEC guide. Rifles and handguns are not allowed for turkey, and hunting turkeys over bait is illegal.
No draw. New York turkey permits are sold over the counter to residents and nonresidents, so you can book this hunt and buy your permit the same day.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 100% of the outdoorsman fee will process 14 days prior to the hunt.
Adventures must be cancelled 14 days or more prior to the hunt. Cancellations made within 14 days of the hunt may be subject to full or partial charges, and IO will work with you to reschedule if applicable.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
