This property spans roughly 2,200 acres in southern Colorado and provides excellent habitat for mourning dove, particularly due to the combination of reliable water, open feeding areas, and natural travel corridors. The creek corridor supports thicker vegetation, scattered trees, and pockets of cover that doves commonly use for loafing, perching, and staging throughout the day. As birds move between water and surrounding feeding areas, this drainage naturally funnels flight paths through the property and creates consistent shooting opportunities. Outside of the creek bottom, the ranch opens up into expansive pasture and sage flats that provide ideal feeding ground where doves can spread out and forage on natural seed sources. With dependable water on the property and a mix of open ground and scattered cover, the landscape offers the key ingredients that keep birds circulating through the area. Located in southern Colorado, this region is well known for strong dove migrations and extended warm weather that allows birds to linger longer than in many other parts of the state. As the migration progresses, new birds often continue to move into the area, meaning hunting opportunities can remain productive well beyond the traditional opening weekend as fresh flocks filter through the region.
