This is a DIY black bear hunt just south of Jefferson, Colorado, right on the boundary of GMU 50 and 501. Our property resides on both sides of that line, and hunters who obtain a bear tag for this area are able to hunt both units and the entirety of our ranch. We offer 150 acres of private land that borders public land access both to the north and the south. To our south is roughly 800 acres of BLM - this ground is publicly accessible, but it isn't easy to reach without permission through private, or without taking a mile-long hike to our back boundary line. Pike National Forest borders us to the north, and is much more accessible to the public, but also adds potential acreage and opportunity to your hunt. Michigan Creek is a bit of a blockade from the main access point to the remainder of our property, but we have a bridge across the creek that can be used if you prefer not to wade across. Once across, all access should be done on foot only. Camping is allowed on the property but must be booked through HipCamp - otherwise you can find lodging options within reasonable distance. Hope you enjoy the hunt!
This property sits in the heart of South Park, where the transition from open basin to timbered mountain terrain creates ideal conditions for a healthy black bear population. The region's mix of forested ridgelines, rocky outcroppings, riparian corridors, and open meadows provides bears with everything they need to thrive. With Michigan Creek winding through and providing a natural travel corridor that bears use throughout the season, this property serves as a classic transition zone. The brush along the creek offers both cover and food, while the hill country beyond gives bears the high-ground security they prefer during daylight hours.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will automatically process 2 weeks after Colorado Draw results post, or immediately upon booking if the reservation is made after draw results post. The remaining 50% will automatically process 1 month prior to the adventure.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
