Hogs own the Waccamaw River bottoms, and two full days of hog hunting at Jamestown Hunt Club put you right in the middle of them. The club’s 5,000 acres sit in the river drainage northwest of Calabash, in Brunswick County, North Carolina, some of the thickest hog country on the Carolina coast. Swampy floodplain and dense bottomland hardwoods hold the sounders, and feeders and food plots across the property keep them moving.
Arrive around noon, meet at the clubhouse, and sight in on the club’s private range. From there, a Jamestown Hunt Club rep takes you to the hottest spot on the property for each evening and morning hunt and brings you back to the clubhouse afterward. Two days means more time on stand, with two hogs included. Archery and rifle hunters are both welcome, all hunts are over feeders, and mobility-impaired hunters can be accommodated. Please make your booking for your arrival day, this is the that day you will start your first hunt in the PM.
Stay right on site between hunts. The rustic-modern lodging has a full kitchen and room for 6 to 10 hunters between the main clubhouse and the bunkhouse, and the skinning shack with winches makes processing easy once your hog is down.
With Sunset Beach about 15 minutes away and Myrtle Beach a short drive, Jamestown is built for groups. Bring your team for a corporate retreat or leadership getaway with shared meals at the clubhouse, or plan a guys’ trip or family getaway split between the river and the beach. A valid North Carolina hunting license is required.
Premium lodging near the beach is available at an additional cost. Your hunt price stays the same; you book and pay for the upgrade directly with the host at www.retreatmyrtlebeach.com.
This stretch of the Waccamaw River is blackwater bottomland, a habitat type known for some of the richest wetland diversity in the Carolinas. Swampy floodplain gives hogs heavy bedding cover, while laurel oak, overcup oak, live oak, and Atlantic white cedar line the higher ground. Acorn drops and soft swamp soils keep sounders rooting through the flats, and the club’s feeders and food plots pull them out of the thick cover where you can see them.

After your hunt, you will receive an automated Harvest Report. Please fill it out and return it within 2 weeks, including a photo and the date of any hog taken, even if you did not take a hog. Failure to return it within 2 weeks will result in a $25 fine. Your report helps IO and the landowners track hog pressure and keep this hunt producing year after year.
