Notes from the landowner

Infinite Outdoors, in collaboration with private landowners and outdoor industry sponsors, is proud to expand public land and water access through our Access Granted initiative. This program is designed to provide free access to lands that are rightfully owned by the public, while partnering with landowners to unlock hard-to-reach areas. As part of this initiative, Infinite Outdoors and our partners are excited to offer exclusive access to the Mountain View property near Virginia Dale, Colorado. This property serves as a critical gateway to a scenic stretch of the North Fork of the Poudre River, as well as the renowned Turkey Roost Mountain. Access is provided at no cost to Infinite Outdoors Access Members, and reservations must be made in advance through the IO platform. To ensure responsible use and a high-quality experience, the landowner has agreed to allow a maximum of 2 vehicles and 6 people per day on the property. Failure to reserve access prior to visiting will be considered trespassing and may result in fines imposed by the landowner or state agencies. All guests must be Access Members, be listed on the reservation, and provide necessary information in advance. The property will be managed by the landowner in cooperation with Infinite Outdoors and relevant state agencies. All visitors must adhere to Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations when engaging in any activity on public land accessed via this private property.

Game and habitat information

The Mountain View property gives access to several thousand acres of varied and scenic terrain, making it a prime destination for outdoor recreation. The landscape features gently rolling mountains, dense timber stands, scattered aspen groves, open meadows, and deep, spring-fed canyons, all of which support a diverse range of activities. Visitors can enjoy fishing along the North Fork Poudre River, which is accessible via an 800-yard trail from the parking area on private land. The property also serves as a convenient and scenic location to put in or take out a kayak along this section of the river. For land-based activities, Mountain View is well-suited for hiking, shed hunting, and rock climbing, particularly with its direct access to Turkey Roost Mountain. Known in northern Colorado for its outstanding rock-climbing opportunities, Turkey Roost can only be accessed through the Cherokee State Wildlife Area, which is closed September through May. Access through Mountain View during these months makes it an invaluable resource for climbers seeking year-round access to the area. Whether you’re exploring the river or scaling the rocks of Turkey Roost, the varied terrain of Mountain View provides something for every outdoor enthusiast.
