Whitetail DeerAcreage
121Nestled between Hulett and Aladdin, Wyoming, this remarkable property offers a hunting experience steeped in tradition. With direct access to the Black Hills National Forest, this land has been a proven haven for whitetail deer for decades. Generations of hunters have found success here, and still to this day the land continues to produce quality opportunities. A portion of this property operates as a hobby farm, with farm animals centralized around the home in a fenced-in area, which is the only restricted zone. Hunters must steer clear and avoid discharging any weapons near the farm - this area is shown in the Infinite Outdoors app as an outlined boundary inside the private bounds. Access to the property is on foot only, and hunters are asked to park at the main gate before walking in. For those who wish to fully immerse themselves in the land’s natural beauty, on-site camping is available during the hunt. Additionally, hunters can extend their range by accessing the adjacent national forest on foot. For those seeking a prime hunting destination rich in history and abundant wildlife this property is a rare and exceptional find. All hunters are bound by state regulations and must adhere to seasons and methods of take. This property falls in hunt area 2 for deer, which is also part of Region A.
This unique property, directly bordering nearly 18,000 acres of Black Hills National Forest, offers a diverse and well-balanced habitat ideal for sustaining a healthy whitetail deer population. The land consists of a mix of agricultural fields, rolling hills, rocky ridges, and dense forest, providing prime bedding, feeding, and travel corridors for wildlife. To the north hunters will find a cultivated field that serves as a primary food source for deer, drawing them in from the adjacent national forest. A natural travel pattern has been observed over the years, with whitetail deer typically entering the northern fields at dusk from the west and bedding down overnight before moving south at dawn toward a pond and the wooded south fields. The presence of a berm in the main northern field creates a subtle separation, offering additional cover from a nearby road. A small ravine on the northeast portion of the property provides another natural funnel for game movement. The southern portion of the property features rolling hills with rocky outcrops, untouched by cultivation, providing excellent bedding areas and natural staging zones for deer before they move into the fields to feed. The property’s northwestern side grants access to the Black Hills National Forest, both through the north field and from the ridge, offering hunters additional options if game temporarily holds up on public land. Although mule deer are not commonly found within the private boundaries, they can occasionally be spotted in the national forest. With neighboring properties also permitting hunting, deer movement remains active throughout the season. The combination of cultivated land, rugged terrain, dense tree cover, and water sources makes this property a well-rounded habitat for consistent and successful hunting opportunities, particularly during dawn and dusk.
