Cross County is a DIY pronghorn buck hunt on roughly 6,400 acres of private land in Wyoming Area 16, just north of Buffalo. A unique aspect on our ranch is the access - because we share private roads with neighboring properties, all access in and out of the ranch must be accompanied by us. After you book, we will reach out directly and formulate a game plan to meet. Once on the property, it is our preference that you camp on site for the duration of the hunt to avoid daily trips in and out. There are plenty of quality spots to set up camp, and good enough roads to haul in a camper - though there are no camper hookups, so you'll want to bring your own water and plenty of it.
There are several ranch roads throughout the property that make it easy to move from one end to the other, but some of the most productive hunting here is done on foot. We ask that you stick to existing paths and roads, as off-roading is not permitted. We do border just under 6,000 acres of BLM and Wyoming State ground that is otherwise inaccessible without permission through private property. That means hunting pressure around here is very minimal! The Infinite Outdoors app offers public land layers that you can turn on to see where our land stops and the public begins. Resident hunters can draw a tag in this area with ease, while non-resident hunters should plan on needing 6 or more preference points to draw a tag. Buffalo is only a few miles down the road if there are any emergencies or needs during your hunt.
This property sits on either side of the Sheridan and Johnson County lines in the open plains north of Buffalo, WY. Some of its most notable features include the number of water sources scattered throughout it, including stock tanks and several larger natural watering holes that game will utilize all year long, especially in dry years. Bucks establish territories around these types of water sources early in the season and will defend them through the rut. Pronghorn herds in the Sheridan Region have been trending upward in recent years, with favorable range conditions and mild winters helping fawn recruitment recover following the difficult 2022-23 season. The 2024 season delivered some of the finest trophy Wyoming pronghorn bucks taken in recent memory, with demand from out-of-state hunters for quality northeastern Wyoming tags remaining higher than ever. Mature bucks in this part of the state regularly carry horns in the 13-inch range, and animals pushing into the upper 70s and low 80s SCI are well within reach on low-pressure private ground like this.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted, or immediately upon booking if the reservation is made after draw results post.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
