35 AcresLocated on the South Platte River, south of Greeley, this property offers pristine waterfowl hunting. These blinds are formed with t-posts, hog paneling and are brushed in using various debris and vegetation. Each blind can comfortably fit 6 people, please bring your own chairs. The property to the west of Gander River has not been hunted in the past, and the stretch of river to the east is owned by the town of Evans…. Meaning Gander River is strategically situated in an area where there is minimal hunting activity. Hunters, make sure to bring all licenses and tags required. Also, all hunters must abide by Colorado state rules and laws. Limits and regulations still apply. SPEEDING OVER 15mph ON PRIVATE ROADS WILL RESULT IN FINES.
This Property is located on the very secluded section of the South Platte River. Years past has proven this property to be very productive. The South Platte in this region breaks up into many sand bars, bends, and pocket water. All of which provides excellent forage opportunity and habitat for waterfowl on this property. Pivot and ag fields located just a couple hundred yards to the south will provide birds to utilize the ag and the river to its fullest extent. This area sees minimal hunting pressure and a surplus of waterfowl. The location and habitat this property provides makes this an excellent location for any waterfowl hunter.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
Although the blind is there, please consider showing up earlier and brushing yourself in the way you see fit. However, please also keep modesty in mind, and do not overdo the blind by tearing up the property.

Great property and blind. Several hundred geese roosting on the river at the property and just upstream. Thanks for the great season!

Great, easy, short access to a pretty nice blind. Good spot to take my dad who can’t hike as far. Unfortunately we were there when the river was frozen so we couldn’t decoy birds and only got some passing shots. I would book it again though at a time where the weather is more favorable for duck hunting! Still killed 3 birds which made a good memory.

The easy access is great, and it seems like a good spot. There were 6-8 ducks on the property west of the blind but it was otherwise very, very slow. I imagine it was ikely the fault of the weather and not the location.

Easy access with great communication. Duck hunting was slow but it’s not due to a poor location. The blind was in a great spot on the river and we’d hunt again. We appreciate them opening up their property

Ease access. Short walk to haul gear. There was a decent amount of spent shells around the blind on arrival. Cleaned up and added brush to the blind.

Nice blind easy access onto the property and hauling in gear to the blind. Was my first DIY duck hunt and couldn't have picked a better spot. Saw a good amount of birds with being still early in migration. My father was able to shoot his first duck a green at that. And I was able to put down a couple green wings.
