This 200-acre private ranch sits just outside Rocky Ford, Colorado in GMU 125, stretching along roughly a mile of the Arkansas River. This is a DIY hunt - no blinds or stands are provided, but hunters are welcome and encouraged to bring their own for the 5-day hunt. There's no shortage of solid setups along the bottoms, and the natural cover does a lot of the work for you. This is a buck-only hunt; doe opportunities are listed separately on a different listing page. All access is on foot from a designated parking area - a short walk gets you onto the property. Tags for GMU 125 are limited quota draw tags, but they are generally easy to draw and shouldn't discourage anyone from applying. There are also several smaller public hunting areas within easy driving distance that can be worked into your trip for additional ground to cover.
The Arkansas River corridor in southeastern Colorado is one of the more overlooked whitetail destinations in the West as the Arkansas River drainage holds some of the biggest whitetails in the state. Tall cottonwoods line the river through this property, providing the dense bedding cover that mature bucks rely on, with Russian olive thickets and riparian brush filling in the understory. The native grassland surrounding the bottoms serves as the feeding and staging ground, and bucks tend to funnel through predictable pinch points as they transition between cover and feed throughout the day. Buck-to-doe ratios in these Arkansas River bottom units run around 40 per 100, which reflects a healthy deer population with mature animals present.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fees will automatically process 2 weeks after Colorado draw results post, or immediately upon booking if booked after Colorado draw results post. The remaining 50% will automatically process 1 month prior to the hunt.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
