East Bijou is a 320-acre DIY whitetail deer hunting property just west of Limon, Colorado, in Elbert County and Colorado GMU 105.
The ground is classic eastern Colorado Plains country, hunted as a buck-only whitetail hunt. GMU 105 is predominantly private land, so access to quality deer ground in this unit is genuinely hard to find. Hunters willing to put in the work, scout, and set up on their own will find it a rewarding hunt.
Access is private land and fully DIY, with no guide, no lease, and no outfitter. No blinds or tree stands are provided, so bring your own setup.
Camping is not permitted on the property. Limon is about 20 minutes away with plenty of lodging, fuel, and supplies, and East Bijou is an easy drive from Denver and the Front Range. You’ll need a Colorado deer license valid for GMU 105 through Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Please hunt it right and take care of the land.
East Bijou sits on Colorado’s Eastern Plains and offers a solid mix of habitat for whitetail deer. The property runs along more than half a mile of East Bijou Creek, where the creek bottom is lined with mature trees and dense cover that gives deer bedding areas and natural travel corridors through the property. About a third of the acreage is hay field, providing a consistent food source close to that cover, and a stock tank adds a reliable water source. The rest of the property is open eastern plains terrain. On the plains, whitetail tend to stick close to creek bottoms like this one, where timber and cover are hard to find anywhere else. GMU 105 is predominantly private land, so access to this kind of riparian deer habitat in the unit is limited.
