Eaton Ranch is a 920-acre DIY fall turkey hunting property near Dupree, South Dakota, in Ziebach County and Fall Turkey Unit 24A.
Fall flocks spend their nights in the creek bottoms and their days feeding across 920 acres of rolling grass, draws, and breaks. They keep tight routines between roost, feed, and the ranch's 2-acre lake, so once you find their path you can set up and wait.
The ranch is booked to a single party of up to two hunters for 2-day stretches. Bring a ground blind, break up a flock and call them back, or ambush them on their way to water. Two-tracks make retrieval easy.
The hunt runs during South Dakota fall turkey season for shotgun or archery hunters. The Unit 24A fall license covers one turkey of either sex, and demand is light enough that leftovers are often available from SD Game, Fish and Parks.
Turkeys use the creek bottoms on Eaton Ranch for roosting and move out into the grassland, draws, and breaks to feed during the day. The 2-acre lake and second water feature give flocks reliable water close to the roost all winter.
In fall and winter, turkeys stay grouped and keep consistent daily routines between roost, feed, and water. Glass from the buttes and breaks to find birds, then set up on their path. With only one party on the property, flocks stay on their natural schedule.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 100% of the outdoorsman fee will process 14 days prior to your hunt.
Cancellations must be made more than 14 days before your adventure. Any cancellations made within 14 days of your adventure may be subject to full or partial charges. The IO team will work with you to reschedule, if applicable.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein

After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties, and to continue to put conservation at the forefront, we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we make changes to future years' harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
