4-Man PitElevation
4727 ft.Located in Bracewell, Colorado, between Windsor and Greeley, this property offers hunting opportunities on a corn field that has been cut for silage. This means there will be minimal cover from corn stocks, so extra effort will be needed to brush in any layout blinds or pit touchup. If you plan on bringing more than 4 people or want a little extra elbow room layout blinds are suggested. The property lies next to multiple reservoirs and is only a few miles from the Poudre River. This property has high demand since there are thousands of geese in the area. There are opportunities for both light and dark geese. The access point lies off County Road 29. You will turn to the west down a dirt road that runs on the south side of the property. Please be courteous of the surrounding houses and ensure you are located a minimum of 500 feet away from each house to comply with local laws. The “Blind/Pit” icon represents the recommended location to hunt. SPEEDING OVER 15mph ON PRIVATE ROADS WILL RESULT IN FINES.
Located right on the front range of the Rockies lies the Bracewell Farms Layout fields. This agriculture-rich environment amid population centers allows for incredible amounts of dark geese to migrate through this area every year. This property rotates crops every year and will be cut corn for the 23/24 waterfowl season. Look no farther than this property for world class dark goose hunting. This region is famous for its density in geese due to the agriculture in the area and the hundreds of open water rivers and reservoirs in the immediate surrounding area. The mixture of the front range, water food sources, minimal hunting pressure, and agriculture is a perfect opportunity to have world class waterfowl hunting opportunities. Please Abide by Colorado Game and fish regulations as well as hunting in close proximity to neighbors and other landowners.

Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the adventure. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to partial or full outdoorsman fee charges.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.

The pit is extremely noticeable even with covering the pit lids with dirt and corn stubble the ground has been driven around the pit so much that it makes it look like a bright spotlight on the pit.. every single set of birds flared when they got close to the pit and I have a spread of about 30 dozen to cover.

Toms of birds in the area. Several large groups were working but ended up passing when they realized the field was covered in manure. It’s a shame since there is still quite a bit of food left to attract feeders. No ladders in and out of pit, and no place for dogs. Look forward to next year for this spot.

Last guest left orange peels, and other small pieces of trash in pit. A very large group, 4 trailers, set up in the field across street from SE corner of the field, so competing with that was only able to get one group of cacklers to show any interest in my small spread.
