Enjoy over 2 miles of the Michigan River, Moose River Ranch, a hidden gem tucked away about 10 miles to the east of the small town of Walden, Colorado in North Park Colorado. This property is surrounded by expansive, breathtaking mountain views. Rainbow and brown trout swim through the winding waters and take cover under the willows from the Golden and Bald Eagles. Trout range from 6-20+” inches so leave the small fly rod at home and be ready for anything. There are plenty of accessible spots for younger anglers and people with mobility issues but there are also some heavily willowed areas on the riverbank. We love hitting these heavily willowed spots as that’s where bigger trout linger.

Stunning property in North Park! The stars lined up for what could have been a banner day on the Michigan River: perfect weather, optimal flows at about 50cfs, strong hatches and plenty of holding water. Unfortunately, trout were few and far between in spite of our best efforts. There was limited surface action but we did have some success on small streamers. It is important to note that the river is surrounded by dense vegetation and that higher water flows would make access challenging. Although habitat looked ideal, we did not encounter any moose on that day.

It was really beautiful. I caught one fish and had an extended release on a few others. Flows were good. Just a little cold during the day, storm system moving in so I am sure that affected the fishing.

This location is one of the most scenic locations you'll find. Absolutely beautiful with mountains on all sides. We had a bald eagle fly over...and saw sign of moose everywhere. Water was a bit low, as to be expected this year. Super clear as well. When the clouds came in, we saw a ton of activity with a dry-dropper setup. Everything we caught was on the dry. Nothing of size, but tons of small, native brown trout. It was a great day in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend this location.

Yes, lodging is available. The Lakeview cottage (3-bedroom, 2 bath house within 60 yards of Colorado’s largest privately owned lake) costs $450/night + cleaning fee. The Little Moose Cottage (7-bedroom house 30 feet inland from the Lakeview Cottage) costs $400/night + cleaning fee. Lodging can be booked directly through property owners. If you’re interested, please let us know and we’ll put you in touch! : )

For properties listed as "Community Adventures" there is the possibility that a limited number of other anglers can be on the property at the same time. Just a heads up, some of our spots have other leases that might have anglers casting their lines too. We think it's important to mentor the next generation of anglers. Youth between the ages of 13 and 17 are 50% off for all fishing and small game when you reserve on the Infinite Outdoors app. However, kids 13-17 will need to have an Infinite Outdoors Membership. Youth 12 and under are free and do not need a membership but must follow all property rules.

Access your adventure on the IO app before heading out the door, all the information and maps will be on the app so you don't need service to navigate your adventure. Also all property maps will download offline onto your app so you can always see where you are on the property, even without service.

We can't guarantee you'll catch fish every time—fishing always comes with a bit of unpredictability due to factors like weather and fish behavior. However, we do everything we can to boost your chances! We offer information on local fly shops so you can get the best tips and gear recommendations. As for the size of the fish, it really depends on where you're fishing. We aim to connect you with spots where you have a good shot at landing some great catches, but it's all part of the Do-It-Yourself fly fishing adventure!
