Notes from the landowner

The Hearn Place is a 227-acre private whitetail property located outside of McRae-Helena, Georgia in the Green deer management zone. This is a DIY buck-only hunt - a doe hunt is available through a separate listing on the Infinite Outdoors platform. These 5-day hunts can be booked during rifle, archery, or muzzleloader season depending on the tag you have in hand. The property comes well equipped with 2 box blinds, 2 feeders, and 8 acres of food plots already in place, giving hunters a solid foundation to work from on arrival. The Hearn Place is managed with a clear goal in mind - mature bucks only. Hunters are expected to pass on younger deer and hold out for 3.5+ year old animals. This is not a property for shooting the first buck that walks out - it is managed intentionally to grow and harvest mature deer, and that standard is enforced. Harvesting a buck that does not meet the age criteria will result in a fine. Upon booking confirmation, please review the full property rules for more details on the deer management policy, as well as information on the harvest report that will be requested following your hunt.

Game and habitat information

The Hearn Place sits in south central Georgia's Upper Coastal Plain - a region that consistently produces some of the best whitetail hunting in the state. Some of the best areas for trophy bucks in Georgia are found in the southwestern and south central portions of the state, where good genetics and agricultural land come together to grow mature, heavy-antlered deer. The area's trophy potential is well documented - Telfair County, just north of McRae-Helena, is home to the Georgia state record non-typical buck, a 248 4/8 inch giant taken in 1998. The 227 acres of the Hearn Place is a mix of planted pines and hardwood timber that gives bucks the bedding security and thermal cover they seek during the season, with 8 acres of food plots and supplemental feeders providing consistent nutrition and reliable deer movement patterns hunters can count on. Turnpike Creek runs just south and southeast of the property, providing a year-round water source that pulls deer into the area and anchors them to this ground throughout the season. Buck quality in Georgia has been steadily increasing since the 1990s, with significantly more 2.5 and 3.5 year old bucks showing up in the annual harvest - and on a property managed specifically for mature animals, that trend works directly in the hunter's favor.
