Just south of Casper, Bates Creek South sits in the heart of prime whitetail habitat within Wyoming’s area 66. Located just 30 minutes from Casper, this property combines accessibility with a secluded feel. While best known for its resident Antelope, the creek bottoms are a draw for whitetail populations. This property has not been over-pressured in recent years, offering a chance to hunt mature bucks in a lightly hunted area rich in natural habitat and wildlife movement. Harvest will be limited to 2 bucks per year. This can be booked as a single group or two individuals willing to share access to over 13,000 acres of terrain over the entire month of November.
This property offers over 13,000 acres of varied terrain, including more than 4 miles of productive creek bottom that winds through cottonwood groves, brushy draws, and irrigated hay meadows. The riparian corridor along Bates Creek provides year-round water, cover, and feed—making this stretch a natural travel corridor and bedding area for a healthy population of whitetail deer. With rolling hills and high desert transitioning into thick creekside cover, hunters can expect a combination of spot-and-stalk and treestand opportunities depending on the season and hunting style. The rut can produce high levels of daylight activity within the dense bottomlands.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needed after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
