6-Man PitNotes from the landowner
Just 2 miles east of Park Creek Reservoir sits Park Creek #18 – Pit which covers just over 45 acres of corn field that is sure to be covered in geese all season long. Being located in the popular Central Flyway, northwest of Wellington, Colorado, hunters are sure to have a multitude of shooting opportunities, especially when concealed by the property's 6-man pit. Please be aware that this is a DIY hunting adventure, and all hunters are expected to bring their own equipment and gear, including seats. All hunters are also expected to follow all rules and regulations of IO and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Game and habitat information
Park Creek #18 is a corn field that rests two miles from Park Creek reservoir, and 4.5 miles from the Rawhide Reservoir. With a large corn field, and the reservoirs in the area, geese are expected to be moving to and from the cornfield and the larger water sources throughout the season. Dark geese are most expected to be seen in this area of the Central Flyway of northern Colorado. Geese will typically be seen feeding during a morning flight, as well as an evening flight. However, mid-day flights and field hopping can be seen throughout the season as well. Poor weather conditions will also influence daily flights.
