4655 ft.Faithful Waters is located along the South Platte River, just outside of Kersey, Colorado. This property offers waterfowl hunting in a prime location, just a short drive from the front range. The name of the game here is goose hunting - as this alfalfa field will load up with dark geese throughout the winter and create some great hunting opportunities. There is no pit or blind provided on this property, so it is recommended that hunters bring their own a-frames or layout blinds. If you do not have blinds to bring, you can make use of several different spots around the field that offer great cover, including a ditch line, pivot center, and patches of tall grass to hide in. Check the confirmation email after booking for information on those areas. Driving into the field will not be permitted - please park along the road and unload your gear and haul it into the field. It will not need to be a long haul. Hunters, make sure to bring all licenses and tags required. Also, all hunters must abide by Colorado state rules and laws. Limits and regulations still apply. SPEEDING OVER 15mph ON PRIVATE ROADS WILL RESULT IN FINES.
This property is located along a very secluded section of the South Platte River that has historically not been hunted hard for waterfowl. The South Platte in this region is used by large numbers of Canada geese during the winter, especially after big bodies of water in the area freeze over. Then, the South Platte is used by the birds as a flyway or corridor, as they move up and down from roost to feed, and back again. Faithful Waters is comprised of a large alfalfa field, which is a main food source for geese. Though they tend to hit alfalfa much harder when the weather is the worst, birds will field hop throughout the day on nice weather days, making this spot a great place to traffic birds until it becomes the X. This area sees minimal hunting pressure and a surplus of waterfowl, especially later in the year. The location and habitat this property provides makes this an excellent location for any waterfowl hunter.
