Mule DeerNorth Camp is a DIY mule deer hunting property nestled in GMU 421. This nearly 500-acre parcel is a hot spot for mule deer hunting that provides easy and direct access to Grand Mesa National Forest. The ranch and region are known for trophy bucks, attracting hunters of all levels. You can explore the area on horseback or with ATVs, making it easy to navigate the diverse terrain and discover new hunting spots. After a day of hunting, relax in one of 4 cozy cabins equipped with everything you need, including showers, cook areas, and Wifi. The property mainly uses solar power, but there's a backup generator for peace of mind if the sun decides to stay away during your hunt. Whether you're warming up by the fire or enjoying a hot shower, you'll find comfort amidst nature's beauty. The reservation fee on this property is for the entire season and includes all cabins, no matter the size of your group. Although lodging and other amenities are provided, this is still a DIY hunt and hunters will need to be prepared for that: This means retrieving your own game, providing your own hunting equipment, and everything else that falls within the DIY mold.
North Camp is made up of what most people will refer to as high desert terrain, which provides ideal habitat for mule deer. On this property, hunters will find a mix of sage-covered hills and dense oak brush, perfect for deer to hide and roam. Tall cover allows deer to disappear and thrive in their environment. Several water sources are found on site, including Middleton Creek, a large pond, and several smaller tributaries: Water is never far. Nearby hay fields offer extra grazing spots, keeping deer well-fed and in the area all year. With plenty of natural food sources, this area supports a healthy mule deer population, making it a true deer haven.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
Dependent on season. Archery hunts will be one full week.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needing made after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
