6900 ftThis 200-acre DIY mule deer hunting property lies just south of Elk Head Reservoir, near Hayden, Colorado. It offers ample opportunity for quality mule deer during Colorado's 4th rifle season. Rock Springs Ranch provides easy access to quality deer habitat and offers great potential for those who enjoy more of a still-hunting style. Two tracks across the property allow for easy game retrieval as well as travel to and from each side of the ranch. Use of UTV's or 4WD vehicles is permitted on established roads for game retrieval only. Please note that there is a ranch house on site, which must be taken into consideration for any discharging of a firearm. There are 2 box blinds provided on the property that may be utilized by hunters during their adventure.
Certain areas of the western slope of Colorado produce some of the highest quality mule deer habitat and terrain. Rock Springs Ranch is a great example of a place that mule deer just want to be. The ranch features classic western slope mule deer country, made up of rolling hills and sagebrush-covered terrain interspersed with native grasses that provide both forage and security cover. The property spans both sides of a broad valley, with a primary drainage running north to south that naturally funnels deer movement through the ranch. Rock Spring flows through the middle of the property giving game a reliable water source and serves as daily destination points for deer traveling through the area. These waters, combined with the natural terrain features on the ranch and adjacent agriculture fields, create consistent travel patterns as deer move to and from the valley throughout the season. Rock Springs Ranch sits squarely within an established mule deer migration route, and deer utilize the property regularly throughout the year. During the peak of the rut, new deer arrive on the property daily creating exciting action throughout the later seasons. The terrain offers hunters the ability to shoot 300 yards+ out of the provided blinds or spot and stalk deer for closer shots. The combination of terrain, cover, water access, and location makes this a dependable and highly attractive piece of mule deer habitat. Landowner vouchers may be available for 4th season if hunters are unsuccessful in the primary and secondary draw.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after Colorado draw results post (or at the time of booking if booked after draw results are out). The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
If you are unsuccessful drawing a tag, reach out before 2 weeks after results post to cancel and no further charges will incur. If a hunt is cancelled after a payment for the outdoorsman fee has run, Infinite Outdoors will work to reschedule the hunt. Reach out to IO for more info.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
