The Corner Spot offers roughly 40 acres of private ground along the Arkansas River in GMU 129. Please take special note of the property boundaries provided in the Infinite Outdoors app - this huntable acreage is part of a larger working farm, and the remainder is off limits. Move freely within the marked boundaries, but do not wander beyond them. There are no blinds provided, so plan to bring a popup blind or other means of blending into the surrounding cover. True to its name, this is a corner of the property where birds naturally funnel through as they move up and down the river bottom - check the Infinite Outdoors map for the blind icon indicating a solid setup location. Licenses in GMU 129 are available over the counter, making this an easy and convenient hunt to put together on short notice.
The Corner Spot earns its reputation from geography. Situated where irrigated agricultural fields meet the cottonwood timber lining the Arkansas River, this property sits at the kind of transition zone that Rio Grande turkeys are drawn to naturally. Birds moving up and down the river bottom will peel off into the field edges to feed, making the interface between open ground and heavy cover the most productive real estate on the property. The Rocky Ford Canal running along the southern boundary adds another structural edge that turkeys use as a travel corridor. In this part of GMU 129, the combination of river timber, open ag ground, and canal edges concentrates birds in predictable patterns - and private access to that overlap is rare. The Corner Spot puts hunters right in the middle of it.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
