Varmint and predator hunting rounds out the year at Saba Springs Ranch, and it's about as flexible as hunting gets here — no closed season, no bag limit, and it doubles as a real service to the ranch's deer and turkey program. This is a one-day blind hunt: you'll sit over one of the ranch's box or ground blinds and let coyotes and other predators come to you rather than calling and moving through the property.
*Campfires are prohibited on this property.
The property's live oak cover, river-bottom brush, and open pasture edges give coyotes and other predators plenty of travel corridors and cover close to the deer and turkey's own bedding and feeding areas — which is exactly why predator pressure matters here. Reducing that pressure supports the ranch's broader management goals: fewer predators means better fawn and poult survival, which is part of what's kept the deer herd's age structure and turkey numbers strong enough to support the rest of the listings on this property.
For the 2024/25 season, 6 cull bucks and 20 does may be harvested.
