La Bonte Creek Still Hunt is a DIY duck and goose hunting property on an open stretch of private creek south of Douglas, Wyoming, in Converse County.

La Bonte Creek is a small tributary of the North Platte River. Unlike the tighter, tree-lined sections of the creek, this stretch doesn’t have tall timber on both banks, which gives you clear line of sight and open shooting lanes on birds working the area. It’s set up for hunters who want to put out a decoy spread, settle into a blind, and stay put.

Access is private land and fully DIY, with no guide, outfitter, blind, or pit provided. Bring your own A-frame or layout blind, or use the cover along the bank. From the parking area it’s about a 200-yard walk on flat, easy ground, and a wagon or sled makes hauling decoys and blinds simple. You’ll need a Wyoming license for waterfowl and a federal duck stamp, so check Wyoming Game and Fish for current requirements. Douglas is the nearest town for fuel and supplies.

La Bonte Creek offers extremely tight water, reaching roughly 10 yards across at its widest point. Much of the creek is lined with tall trees, which can make hunting slightly more challenging and may limit birds’ ability to circle and commit easily. Despite this, the area still attracts both ducks and dark geese. This listing provides access to a more open stretch of the creek where a shallow pool forms from a backwater eddy. The surrounding bank offers thick natural cover, allowing hunters to tuck into an effective natural blind. In addition, the location sits directly adjacent to a planted oat field that runs up to the creek’s edge. This creates an excellent opportunity to place decoys both on the water and in the field, increasing visibility and drawing birds from the air.

Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Outdoorsman fees will automatically process 48 hours prior to the adventure - it is the responsibility of the party organizer to ensure each hunter is added to the guest list prior to 48 hours so charges may process accordingly.

For waterfowl, fishing, and other small game adventures, cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled adventure will not be charged. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the adventure will be charged the full outdoorsman fee.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.

You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
