Nitro Draw offers a 3-day antelope hunt from a private 40-acre base in Antelope Hunt Area 71, the East Poison Spider unit, in Natrona County, Wyoming. The property sits west of Casper and borders 642 acres of state trust land along with several BLM tracts.
Antelope work the open sage flats here, and the small lake on the adjoining state ground draws them in to drink. Rolling hills, draws, and rocky outcrops give you the cover you need to set up near water or slip within range on a stalk across the flats.
Camping is not allowed on Wyoming state land, and neither is off-road driving or an open fire, so a legal private campsite this close to public ground is a real advantage. Set up a tent on the property, or pull in a trailer when weather and road conditions allow, and you are hunting the minute you step out.
One party of up to four hunters is booked at a time. You will need a valid Wyoming Area 71 antelope license. The road in is a rough two-track and weather dictates what vehicles can make it, so plan on a high-clearance 4x4. Lodging and food are in Casper.
The country around Nitro Draw is open sagebrush and grass, broken up by rolling hills, draws, and rocky outcrops. Antelope feed and travel on the open sage flats, and the small lake on the neighboring state land gives them a dependable place to water. That combination of open flats, broken cover, and water is a strong setup for both spot-and-stalk hunting and sitting water during warmer weather. Area 71 is largely private land, which makes the adjoining public tracts valuable.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the Wyoming draw results are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
3-Day Hunt. By booking the first day of your hunt, you are automatically booked for the following 2 days as well.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
Antelope Hunt Area 71 is limited quota, so every hunter needs to draw a Wyoming Area 71 antelope license before booking. Draw odds change every year. View current drawing odds, licenses, and leftover availability in the Wyoming Game and Fish Hunt Planner: https://wgfd.wyo.gov/HuntPlanner.
Wyoming deer and antelope licenses are sold through the Wyoming Game and Fish Department draw. Apply, check leftover licenses, and buy preference points at wgfd.wyo.gov.
Area 71 has a special archery season in late summer followed by a rifle season that runs from mid-September through October. Season dates change every year; check current dates and regulations at wgfd.wyo.gov before your hunt.
The ground next to this property includes Wyoming state trust land and BLM land. Legally accessible state trust land is open to public hunting with a valid license, but Wyoming prohibits overnight camping, open fires, and off-road driving on state land, and vehicles must stay on established roads. Your camp stays on the private 40. Know where the private, state, and BLM lines are before you hunt, and use the Infinite Outdoors app or another land-status map to stay legal.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties, and to continue to put conservation at the forefront, we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future years' harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
