VarmintAndrus Draw is a DIY varming hunting property located south of Kaycee, WY. A great perk of booking a hunt on Andrus Draw Antlers, is that it not only offers access to 600 acres of private property, but also private gated access to thousands of acres of BLM and Wyoming state land. All hunters who attend an adventure on this property must stay on existing roads and two tracks and may not venture off of them in any form of vehicle. That being said, there is a decently maintained road that traverses through the property and into BLM, making for extremely convenient access to wide open country. As this is a DIY hunt, hunters will be expected to provide their own equipment.
Andrus Draw Antlers has many enticing habitat factors that bring wildlife to within its boundaries. A creek that flows through the property from north to south provides necessary water resources, as well as lush green grasses and other substantial food choices that game will graze on. Though relatively flat with elevation ranges of 4700 to 4840, the property boasts changing topography with many areas that game can bed and disappear into. Besides the ideal habitat that is within the private borders of the property, the surrounding BLM and state land also showcases terrain that is sought after by many species of game, including mule deer.
Prairie dog hunting is a popular summer activity in Wyoming that can help improve marksmanship. Some say that the best time to hunt prairie dogs is from June 1 to late July. No license or stamp is required to hunt prairie dogs or coyotes, but it's illegal to harvest them from vehicles or public roads.
