Notes from the landowner

This is a reliable 40-acre tract just north of Talmoon, MN, with a corner that touches Little Turtle Lake and it provides an ideal setting for a northern Minnesota turkey hunt. The property is heavily wooded with a mix of aspen, hardwoods, and spruce. A recent harvest has created a thick understory that turkeys love for roosting and feeding, while also opening up just enough space in pockets for calling and visibility. Most areas offer 50-60 yards of visibility, with some aspen pockets stretching out to 100 yards, giving hunters just the right mix of cover and shooting lanes. This is a great property for shotgun turkey hunters, especially those who enjoy working birds in tight quarters. The varied terrain and cover types make it easy to find travel routes and natural strut zones. There are no blinds provided, and permanent setups aren’t allowed, so please bring your own pop-up blind or natural setup. For longer stays, there’s a good flat spot to park a camper right on-site. If you’re looking for a quiet, wooded piece of ground where gobblers feel at home and close encounters are part of the hunt, this property is the right choice for you.

Game and habitat information

This property offers prime habitat for wild turkeys and sits right within the expanding northern range of Minnesota’s growing turkey population. The cover on this property provides excellent roosting trees, protected loafing areas, and natural feeding zones, which is everything turkeys look for throughout the season. Wild turkeys were once rare this far north, but their numbers have increased significantly in recent years. Minnesota’s statewide turkey population now exceeds 70,000 birds, and the 2024 spring season saw a record-setting harvest of over 16,600 turkeys. This is a strong indication of a thriving and expanding population. Reports and sightings confirm that birds are now well-established in the greater Grand Rapids and Iron Range regions, with consistent presence near Talmoon. With quality habitat, quiet surroundings, and growing turkey numbers in the area, this property offers a promising northern Minnesota turkey hunting experience.

Harvest Reports

After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.

Hunt Duration

2 Day Hunt. By booking the first day of your adventure, you are automatically booking the following 1 as well. The reservation will be for the entire timeframe, and your entire group.
