175Hogback Draw is a premium 173-acre hunting property located just outside of Meeker, Colorado in Rio Blanco County - an exceptional DIY big game opportunity for rifle hunters in one of the West’s most consistently productive big game units. The property borders over 1,900 acres of BLM that is accessible by road through the private parcel, either by 4WD vehicle, ATV, or horseback. While the BLM is open to the public, any pressure there often pushes game back onto this private ground. This is a rifle-only property and will not be available during archery or muzzleloader seasons. All hunts booked on this property allow the adventurers access for the entire duration of their season. In addition, it offers an all-inclusive setup, meaning hunters can pursue any species for which they hold a valid tag. This includes OTC 2nd and 3rd season elk tags for private land only, or unit-wide elk tags for the same seasons that are easily drawn or picked up on the leftover list, limited draw mule deer tags, and limited OTC bear tags available on a first-come, first-serve basis. In other words, hunters are encouraged to fill their pockets with tags and make the most of their experience! While camping and lodging are not allowed on the property, comfortable accommodations are readily available just 9 miles away in Meeker.
This property lies within GMU 23, part of the renowned White River Valley - home to some of the largest elk and mule deer herds in the state of Colorado. The land features a diverse mix of oak brush ridges, cedar pockets, and lush valley floors, with over 40 acres of alfalfa and strategically placed water tanks that attract wildlife year-round. Situated along a historic elk migration corridor from the Flat Tops Wilderness to lower wintering grounds, the property sees consistent elk activity during the fall migration. The White River elk herd, Colorado’s largest, is estimated at approximately 30,380 animals, with a bull-to-cow ratio of 19:100. Mule deer also thrive here. The varied terrain provides ideal habitat for both resident and migratory deer. Additionally, the area supports a healthy population of black bears, with Colorado's statewide bear population continuously growing. The property's combination of food sources, water, and diverse terrain makes it a prime location for hunting elk, mule deer, and black bear
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
