4600 ftWalker Ranch is a DIY pronghorn hunting property north of Raymer, Colorado in GMU 88. This ranch consists of just over 8,200 acres of privately deeded land and is bordered on almost every side by public Pawnee National Grasslands. With public pressure in the area being historically heavy, it generally pushes more game within the private boundaries of Walker Ranch, increasing odds of success. Access to this property is required to be done mostly by foot - any existing main trails or roads may be used for traversing the area, but absolutely no off-roading will be permitted. As the landowners, we ask that you find a spot to park and hike into our property. This is an operating cattle ranch throughout the year, so please expect to see active cattle operations - though we generally have them finished by the fall. There is a lot of ground to hunt, so in the event we are moving cattle or anything else, there will be plenty of other area to explore. Landowner vouchers may be available through the landowners here, depending on what is drawn. Please expect to draw your own tag, and we can discuss options if you're unsuccessful. This listing is specifically for buck hunts - a cheaper option is available for doe hunts on the IO platform. Lodging may also be available on site for the duration of your hunt, please inquire with IO if you're interested in booking the lodging.
Located in Colorado’s northeastern plains near Raymer, this GMU 88 property is made up primarily of native pasture with rolling hills and shallow canyons that create classic pronghorn terrain. Antelope depend on wide-open visibility to detect predators, and the expansive grasslands here allow them to see and travel long distances while using subtle elevation changes and draws for bedding, wind advantage, and midday loafing. The rolling breaks naturally funnel movement, particularly during the rut when bucks are actively covering ground and checking doe groups. Multiple water sources—including stock tanks and natural water holes influenced by South Pawnee Creek—provide dependable water that can influence daily patterns, especially during warm, dry stretches. With a mix of public and private land throughout GMU 88, hunting pressure on accessible public parcels can shift antelope movement patterns, often pushing animals toward quieter private boundaries and consistent water sources. Nearby wheat and corn fields just south of the property offer additional forage that antelope may utilize during feeding periods, creating natural transitions between feed, water, and bedding areas typical of eastern Colorado pronghorn habitat.
