Eaton Ranch is a 920-acre DIY coyote and varmint hunting property near Dupree, South Dakota, in Ziebach County.
Long sightlines, buttes for calling stands, and draws that funnel predators make this rolling 2,400-foot prairie a natural fit for coyote hunting. Set up high with the wind in your face, call into a draw, and watch for dogs slipping along the creek bottoms toward the ranch's 2-acre lake.
A party of up to two hunters has the property for 2 days. Rifle, shotgun, or archery are all allowed, and the two-track roads give you easy access between setups.
Coyotes are open year-round in South Dakota, and this hunt is available whenever the ranch is not booked for deer or turkey. Residents can use a predator/varmint license or any valid South Dakota hunting license; nonresidents need the nonresident predator/varmint license from SD Game, Fish and Parks.
Coyotes hunt the draws, creek bottoms, and grassland edges of Eaton Ranch, where deer, turkeys, and small game are found. The breaks and buttes make natural calling stands with wide views, and the draws below them are the travel routes coyotes use when they come to a call. Winter, when coyotes are hungry and their fur is prime, is an especially productive time to hunt.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 100% of the outdoorsman fee will process 14 days prior to your hunt.
Cancellations must be made more than 14 days before your adventure. Any cancellations made within 14 days of your adventure may be subject to full or partial charges. The IO team will work with you to reschedule, if applicable.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
