Notes from the landowner

Lost Creek Ridge offers 116 acres of private fall turkey hunting with archery, crossbow, or shotgun in the Ned and Lost Creek area of Breathitt County, Kentucky, in the mountains near Hazard.
Fall turkeys travel in flocks, and on this Appalachian hardwood ground they work the slopes, benches, and hollow bottoms as they feed. Find where a flock is moving along a bench or down a drainage and you have a classic fall setup, whether you break them up and call them back together or wait along their path.
One party of up to two hunters has the property at a time. The acreage is in two tracts of 98 and 18 acres, with designated parking for each. ATVs are welcome on approved routes, and portable blinds may be brought in and removed at the end of the hunt. The long fall archery season, two crossbow windows, and two short shotgun windows make it easy to fit a hunt into your calendar.
Fall turkey permits are sold over the counter with no draw. The Kentucky fall season limit is two turkeys. Hunts run two days at a per-hunter price, and lodging and food are in Hazard

Game and habitat information

In fall, eastern Kentucky turkeys gather in family flocks and spend the day feeding through the hardwoods, moving along benches, ridgetops, and hollow bottoms.
Steep, timbered terrain funnels that travel along the contours, which helps a patient hunter predict where a flock will pass. Quiet, single party access means the birds are not being broken up by other groups.

Harvest Report

After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties, and continue to put conservation at the forefront, we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year’s harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.

Current Season

Kentucky's fall turkey archery season runs from early September into mid January. Crossbow hunters get an October window and a late fall window, and shotgun hunters get a week in late October and a week in early December.

Check current season dates and regulations at http://fw.ky.gov

License and Application

No draw required. You will need a Kentucky hunting license and a fall turkey permit, both sold over the counter at fw.ky.gov or through a license vendor. Short term 1 day and 7 day hunting licenses are not valid for turkey. Nonresidents are welcome.

The fall limit is two turkeys per season, either sex. Legal method depends on the season window, so confirm which equipment is legal for your dates.

Draw Odds

No draw. Fall turkey permits are sold over the counter in Kentucky, so you can book your dates and plan your trip with certainty.
