La Bonte Creek provides an opportunity for DIY waterfowl hunting on a small tributary that branches off of the North Platte River, south of Douglas Wyoming. This listing is designed to provide hunters with an option - find a spot in the tight creek to set up a spread and hunt, or walk the creek, utilizing the bends and thick covered edges to jump shoot ducks and geese For any hunters who would prefer to hunt this small creek in a more open area where you can set up a spread and have higher visibility, please use the La Bonte Creek Still Hunt listing on the IO platform. This property is fully DIY, meaning there will be no blind or pit provided for your hunt. You may bring your own a-frame or layout blinds or make use of the ample cover along the bank of the creek. Please note that this is not an area you can drive into to set up - you will be required to park in one area and access the creek by foot. Hunters will have roughly one full mile of creek to hunt, plus an alfalfa field that borders the creek to the north. However, there will be absolutely no driving in the planted fields, so please respect landowner wishes to walk in and out.
La Bonte Creek offers extremely tight water, reaching roughly 10 yards across at its widest point. Much of the creek is lined with tall trees, which can make hunting slightly more challenging and may limit birds’ ability to circle and commit easily. Despite this, the area still attracts both ducks and dark geese. Ducks generally have an easier time committing to dropping in the trees, while geese will more often than not land on the banks and open fields before walking into the creek. The surrounding bank offers thick natural cover, allowing hunters to tuck into an effective natural blind. There is an adjacent hay/alfalfa field that borders this section of creek as well, which will serve as an attractant for geese in the area. As a true DIY location, hunters will have several options for a game plan hunting here - make the most of it and enjoy the scenery!
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Outdoorsman fees will automatically process 48 hours prior to the adventure - it is the responsibility of the party organizer to ensure each hunter is added to the guest list prior to 48 hours so charges may process accordingly.
For waterfowl, fishing, and other small game adventures, cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled adventure will not be charged. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the adventure will be charged the full outdoorsman fee.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
