4Located near historic Medicine Bow Wyoming, this property is classic high dessert Wyoming. The property, and close to 5000 acres of contiguous BLM -much of which is land locked - presents a terrific opportunity for antelope. This area of Wyoming is the definition of "checkerboard" with alternating private and public land parcels. Access to much of this property can be difficult. With nearby Medicine Bow and the Historic Virginian Hotel as a base of operations this property allows for a unique access point to the high desert of Southern Wyoming. Hunters: please be prepared to return the landowner coupon on your license to this landowner. Check the rules and regs section upon booking to learn where to send the coupon.
This property is situated at the southern end of the Freezeout Mountains, an area renowned for its rugged terrain and diverse wildlife. On the west side of the property lies the Medicine Bow River, a year-round water source that is crucial for maintaining the local ecosystem. This river serves as an essential lifeline for Pronghorn and other big game populations, providing water in an otherwise dry region. The property is characterized by deep, cut sandstone valleys that are lined with dense juniper groves, and picturesque plateaus. The surrounding escarpments, with their sagebrush-covered plains, provide a unique mix of open spaces and rugged terrain, making this area a perfect sanctuary prime habitat for Pronghorn. Because of the terrain’s natural topography herds of Antelope feel comfortable moving between water sources and escape routes. A high-quality spotting scope is invaluable in identifying movement and locating antelope in this country.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
If you are successful in harvesting an animal on this property, as a request of the landowners you must send in the Landowner Coupon that is attached to your big game license. Any hunter who successfully fills their tag but fails to return the landowner coupon will receive a $25 fine. This will be issued to the landowner in lieu of the money they would have received from the state through the landowner coupon program. The Harvest Report (noted above) is how you will notify Infinite Outdoors of your hunt results. Unsuccessful hunters are not required to return a coupon. The additional income driven through landowner coupons is a great way to continue incentivizing landowners to allow access to their land - we ask for your help in this endeavor, to keep quality access available at the touch of a button. Upon successful harvest, please send your landowner coupon to: PO BOX 39, MEDICINE BOW, WY 82329.
4 days. By booking the first day of your adventure, you are automatically booking the following 3 as well. The reservation will be for the entire timeframe, and your entire group.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needing made after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
