8267Walker Ranch is a DIY mule deer hunting property north of Raymer, Colorado in GMU 88. This ranch consists of just over 8,200 acres of privately deeded land and is bordered on almost every side by public Pawnee National Grasslands. With public pressure in the area being historically heavy, it generally pushes more game within the private boundaries of Walker Ranch, increasing odds of success. Access to this property is required to be done mostly by foot - any existing main trails or roads may be used for traversing the area, but absolutely no off-roading will be permitted. As the landowners, we ask that you find a spot to park and hike into our property. This is an operating cattle ranch throughout the year, and you may see active cattle operations - though we generally have them finished by the fall. Landowner vouchers may be available through the landowners depending on what is drawn. Please expect to draw your own tag, and we can discuss options if you're unsuccessful. Mule deer tags in this unit can be drawn in both early and late rifle seasons, as well as archery and muzzleloader seasons. This listing is specifically for buck hunts - a cheaper option is available for doe hunts on the IO platform. Lodging may also be available on site for the duration of your hunt, please inquire with IO if you're interested in booking the lodging.
Located in Colorado’s northeastern plains near Raymer, this GMU 88 property provides mule deer habitat that is largely defined by water availability and the broken terrain surrounding it. While much of the ranch consists of open pasture that sees limited consistent deer use, mule deer activity is more concentrated in the canyons, valleys, and ravines where natural cover, terrain breaks, and dependable water create suitable living conditions. Multiple water sources—including stock tanks and natural water holes influenced by South Pawnee Creek—serve as critical anchors for resident deer, particularly during dry periods when water becomes a primary driver of movement. These pockets of moisture and cover create more isolated use areas, holding deer in predictable zones rather than dispersing them evenly across the landscape. Agricultural fields of wheat and corn just south of the property provide an additional food source that deer may utilize during evening and nighttime feeding patterns, with animals often transitioning from secure bedding areas in the draws and ravines toward adjacent crops before returning to cover. Trophy potential in this region of Colorado can vary, but many bucks in the 140-170 range are taken each year. Find the water, find the deer!
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt. All OTC hunts will require a 50% deposit of the outdoorsman fee at the time of booking as well. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
