156Hofer Farms Layout #1 is a DIY waterfowl hunting property just east of Yoder, Wyoming. It consists of a 140-acre organic alfalfa field, directly placed in between several nearby waterfowl roosting areas. This is a layout blind hunting field only - meaning, there will not be any provided blinds on this property. Hunters will need to provide their own above ground blind, whether that is a layout blind or an A-Frame. Infinite Outdoors users receive a great discount on all Apls Outdoors products, including above ground waterfowl blinds. Hunters, please note that as a request of the landowner, no driving into this field will be permitted. There are 2-tracks you may use to travel around the edge of the field but refrain from entering it. A great perk to this field, is that it can be hunted from the far western edge without having to drive in, and still be tucked away from any public roads. One final request of the landowner here, is to keep any E-calling to a minimum - please refrain from using an e-caller during snow goose season ALL day long. You may still use it when birds are in the area and working your spread.
Alfalfa is among one of the most sought-after food sources for geese - though it is not as popular as corn, it still provides necessary nutrients that geese need throughout the year. That being said, this property will be frequented by both dark and light geese throughout the season. Early in the season, residential flocks of dark geese will utilize surrounding open water, and this field is among several that are the first fields in sight after birds leave the roost. In early spring, snow geese flock to this region by the thousands as well. Table Mountain HMA, Hawk Springs Reservoir, and the North Platte River are all within 15 miles of Hofer Farms, giving water and field hopping birds a great area to loaf and feed.

However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
