Dark GeeseNotes from the landowner
Park Creek #19 is located on an agricultural field two miles east of Park Creek Reservoir, and 10 miles from Wellington, Colorado. Park Creek #19 rests within the Central Flyway of the Front Range, a well-known game bird area for all western waterfowl hunters. This property contains 108 acres of corn field, a beloved landing zone for migrating geese. The property will be equipped with a pit that can sit up to 6 people and is able to accommodate a large spread of decoys. This is a DIY hunt; thus, all hunters are required to bring all of their own gear needed for a successful hunt. This includes a bucket or other seat type for the pit. All hunters are required to follow all policies and regulations set by Infinite Outdoors and Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
Game and habitat information
Park Creek #19 is a corn field between two large bodies of water, the Park Creek and Rawhide Reservoirs. Having the agricultural field, as well as two large bodies of water nearby, geese are expected to be flying back and forth between the cornfield and the larger water sources throughout the season. Dark geese are most expected to be seen in this area of the Central Flyway of northern Colorado. Goose activity generally sticks to a morning and evening feeding schedule, though mid-day flights and field hopping are always possible. Poor weather conditions will also play a role in how the birds in the area are acting.
