River, Guides AllowedCome enjoy 1.5 miles of the White River less than five miles from Meeker, CO. The White River in Colorado's Flat Tops region is a prime destination for wild trout fishing. Originating at Trappers Lake, the river splits into the North Fork and the South Fork, which later merge back together at Buford. From there, the river becomes a freestone stream, meandering through scenic valleys filled with hayfields and pastures. RareWaters anglers will access this hidden treasure of a fishery near Meeker.
Up and downstream properties offer gradual banks that allow for easy walk-in access. Anglers are only able to access the river from the north bank as the opposite bank would be considered trespassing. The river's width ranges from 30' to 60'. This is the upstream property of our two properties on the White River.
Livestock can be found on property throughout the winter and as late as June. Given this fact, pets are not permitted on this property.

Meeker Meadows has good and easy access for older and younger fishers. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and checked in to see if I needed anything. I started at the bottom and worked my way upriver so I could get a feel for the whole stretch. There are some great runs and riffles, and the wading is easy for the most part. Air temps were in the upper 50s and the water temp 45 on a clear, beautiful day. I only fished half of the property in 3 hours and had a unique experience to catch 12+ whitefish in the 6-to-14-inch sizes but did not see, rise or catch a trout. Black Sparkle Donkeys, sparkle caddis pupa and green midge larvae caught fish. Thankful for property owners like Lenny to share their beautiful land and rivers.

Really fun couple of days angling on Lenny’s farm! Stoke was high after catching PB brown (27” buck!) on my last visit but expectations were low as it was high and dry with no clouds in sight and water levels at a meager 270cfs. This stretch of water goes on FOREVER and the preservation work done throughout is really special. There were two other groups on the water this day and the only time I saw them was back at the truck for lunch. I found most of the larger browns on smaller streamers & buggers near the upstream boundary on an intermediate sinking line. At sunrise & sunset, there were rises and I found a lot of success on/near the surface with CDC Emergers #18-#20. Caught a couple browns over 20” at the upstream boundary and a few THICK ‘bows to 16” on the lower stretch. The fact that these fish didn’t wow me just goes to show the GOLD that Lenny and the RWs team are sitting on down there. Do yourself a most excellent favor and drive the extra hour or two away from the FRange to fish this gem. Trust me! Psyched to get back down to Lenny’s farm and fish some more this fall when the weather changes!
