776This property includes 780 acres split between two separate parcels, located just a few miles north of the South Platte River near Mitchell, Nebraska—a key flyway corridor for migrating geese. The close proximity to the river puts this property in a prime location to intercept birds moving between roosting water and feed fields. With a combination of irrigated ag land and open space, this setup is well-suited for field hunting geese, especially during the peak of migration. Hunters should come prepared to bring their own layout blinds, as there are no permanent pits or blinds on the property. Extra time in the morning may be needed to brush in blinds properly, especially if you're planning to hunt open ground. That preparation can make all the difference in getting birds to finish. There’s plenty of space for small groups to spread out and run decoy sets in both cut corn and alfalfa fields, depending on the time of year and crop rotation. Access is straightforward, with entry points directly off public county roads. Hunters may park responsibly along the roadside, as long as they are not blocking traffic or equipment.
All hunters must follow Nebraska state regulations for migratory bird hunting, carry the appropriate licenses and stamps, and supply their own gear—including decoys and blinds—for field setups. While there’s no camping or lodging on the property itself, accommodations are easily found in Mitchell or nearby Scottsbluff, both of which are just a short drive away.
The acreage on this farm is split between two parcels and sits within Nebraska’s Platte River Unit, one of the state’s three designated goose hunting zones. This region is a key stop along the Central Flyway, and the property’s mix of irrigated cropland, open skies, and access to water makes it a practical and productive location for field hunting geese. The East Farm includes around 397 acres of irrigated alfalfa and corn, both high-energy food sources that attract geese as they move off the South Platte River in search of feed during the late fall and winter months. The West Farm contributes another 125 acres of irrigated corn. These open areas are ideal for layout blind setups, particularly along field edges and in spots with light vegetation for concealment. The transition zones between feed and cover, paired with the property's proximity to the South Platte River, make this a strong location for morning shoots as geese leave the roost, or midday hunts when birds cycle back for a second feed.
1-Day hunt. If multi day hunts are desired, hunters will have to book their days individually.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. The outdoorsman fee will process automatically, 48 hours prior to the hunt.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the adventure. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to partial or full outdoorsman fee charges.
