If you're looking to fill the freezer with one of the best eating animals the West has to offer, a Cross County pronghorn doe hunt is hard to beat. This is a DIY pronghorn doe hunt on roughly 6,400 acres of private land in Wyoming Area 16, just north of Buffalo. A unique aspect of our ranch is the access - because we share private roads with neighboring properties, all access in and out of the ranch must be accompanied by us. After you book, we will reach out directly and formulate a game plan to meet. Once on the property, it is our preference that you camp on site for the duration of the hunt to avoid daily trips in and out. There are plenty of quality spots to set up camp, and good enough roads to haul in a camper - though there are no camper hookups, so you'll want to bring your own water and plenty of it.
There are several ranch roads throughout the property that make it easy to move from one end to the other, but some of the most productive hunting here is done on foot. We ask that you stick to existing paths and roads, as off-roading is not permitted. We do border just under 6,000 acres of BLM and Wyoming State ground that is otherwise inaccessible without permission through private property. That means hunting pressure around here is very minimal! The Infinite Outdoors app offers public land layers that you can turn on to see where our land stops and the public begins. Buffalo is only a few miles down the road if there are any emergencies or needs during your hunt.
Pronghorn numbers in the Sheridan Region have been trending upward, with quota increases in select areas reflecting growing confidence from wildlife managers in the recovery of regional herds following recent rough winters. Wyoming Game & Fish aerial census flights conducted in August 2024 recorded fawn-to-doe ratios among the highest observed in four decades, with counts in many areas coming in between 80 and 90 fawns per 100 does - a strong sign that does are healthy, reproducing well, and that the population has solid momentum heading forward. Cross County sits in the middle of all this, on a piece of ground that holds water better than most. In dry high plains country, water matters more than almost anything else - does with fawns in tow will orient their entire summer and fall range around reliable water. The surrounding BLM and State land adds a significant low-pressure buffer that most hunters will never set foot on, effectively expanding the functional range of this hunt well beyond the private boundary.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted, or immediately upon booking if the reservation is made after draw results post.
For big game adventures, cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be handled immediately with no penalty. If a cancellation is requested after a deposit has been placed, Infinite Outdoors will make every effort to reschedule the hunt for a different season or a future year. Refunds are not guaranteed once a deposit has been placed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
