Welcome to East Bijou - roughly 320 acres of classic eastern Colorado mule deer country in GMU 105, just west of Limon. This is a true DIY buck-only hunt, so come prepared to put in the work; no blinds or tree stands are provided, and that's part of what makes it rewarding. If you're looking for a doe hunt, that's available separately through our doe-only listing on the IO site. Camping on the property is not permitted, but Limon is only about 20 minutes away and has plenty of lodging options to keep you comfortable between hunts. GMU 105 is predominantly private land and access is genuinely hard to come by, so I'm glad to offer that opportunity to hunters who will respect the property and hunt it right. East Bijou is also an easy drive from Denver and the Front Range, making it a convenient option for a quality mule deer hunt without a long haul to get here - good luck out there, and please take care of the land.
East Bijou sits in the Eastern Plains of Colorado and offers a strong mix of habitat features for mule deer. The property stretches along over a half mile of East Bijou Creek, with the creek bottom lined with mature trees and dense cover that provides both bedding habitat and natural transition corridors for deer moving through the area. About a third of the property is comprised of a hay field which is used as a consistent food source, and the property also provides a stock tank that serves as an important water source and additional holding factor. The remainder of the acreage here is open eastern plains terrain. GMU 105 is predominantly private land, and the broader region of Colorado has a history of producing quality mule deer. The high end of trophy quality here can reach the 170"–190" range, with deer over 200" not being totally out of the question. It will be more common to consistently find bucks in the 140"–160" range. On the eastern plains, riparian corridors like East Bijou Creek are recognized as some of the most important habitat types for mule deer, serving as key wintering and bedding areas.
