258This is a true DIY hunting property with no lodging or built-in amenities. The setup is straightforward and flexible for independent hunters. A well-maintained internal trail system runs throughout the property and can be accessed by 4WD vehicles or ATVs. Hunters should be mindful that sound carries easily through these woods, especially during cooler months, and excessive driving may affect movement. Thoughtful access and stand placement will produce better results. The property is divided by an east-to-west running creek, creating distinct north and south sections. Several constructed crossings allow hunters to move between both sides without difficulty. After booking, a detailed map will outline stand locations and creek crossing points. This tract borders approximately 1,800 acres of Sumter National Forest. The public ground is accessible to other hunters, particularly during peak seasons, but that added pressure can often shift predator movement toward private boundaries. Primitive camping is permitted on-site for an additional nightly fee. The use of dogs will be allowed on the property, and night hunting for racoons is also allowed - only if state of South Carolina regulations are followed.
This property provides strong year-round habitat for coyotes, raccoons, and other species of small game and predators due to its combination of water, cover diversity, edge transitions, and travel corridors. The creek system serves as a primary movement corridor for raccoons and is a consistent travel route for coyotes as they scent-check for prey. Mature hardwood bottoms provide mast production, den sites, and feeding opportunities, while adjacent pine stands offer thick bedding and daytime security cover. Edge transitions between pine and hardwood timber concentrate small mammals, creating natural hunting grounds for predators. Logging roads and ridge trails double as efficient travel lanes that coyotes frequently use when covering ground. The rolling terrain creates excellent calling setups. Hunters can position on higher ground and project sound into multiple drainages and benches, increasing response potential. Night hunting for raccoons is especially productive along the creek corridor and lower hardwood flats. With year-round water, mixed-age timber, and adjacency to large tracts of public land, this property supports steady predator movement and offers consistent opportunity throughout the season.
