4-Man A-FrameFlyway
CentralBuckeye Birds #1 is a DIY waterfowl property north of Wellington, Colorado. Located in the Central Flyway, this area of Colorado is known for large migrations of Canada geese throughout the year. Along the front range, dark geese are highly sought after and therefore highly pressured in many areas. Buckeye Birds is unique in this case, because it has historically received very minimal hunting pressure. Available for use on this property is an Alps Outdoorz A-frame blind, with room for 4 hunters. Though it is brushed in to match its surroundings, strong winds and other weather can impact its brushing quality, so it is recommended to provide yourself time to add brush before your hunt. Access to the blind location here follows one path in and one path out - please do not take it upon yourself to drive through the field in any other method other than what is shown in the IO app.
Buckeye Birds #1 will be a cut corn field during the 2024/25 waterfowl season and will cater to dark geese more than any other species. Although, occasional snow geese can be found in this area due to abundant food and open water. The corn in this field will be cut for silage, which means it will have shorter stocks - this is a perk because geese do not generally enjoy landing in fields where their wings will be getting hit upon landing. Though it is cut for silage, there will still be corn left on the ground, and hunters will have the ability to traffic birds to the field with a good decoy spread. North of the property is the Rawhide Powerplant and cooling reservoir, that stays open all year-round. This means that there will always be an available roost within a few miles, and this field is among several that are the first thing feeding geese will see as they make their daily flights. Just south of the field is another small reservoir that when open, can act as another roost as well as a mid-day loafing location.
1-Day Hunt
Provided blinds are built at the beginning of the season. Hunters are encouraged to spend a few minutes brushing in the blinds to keep them in quality condition and keep them well hidden from birds.
Reservation fees are processed at the time of booking and are non-refundable. All outdoorsman fees will process automatically, 48 hours prior to the hunt.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the adventure. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to partial or full outdoorsman fee charges.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
