Whitetail deer are abundant in the area, especially during the rut, attracted to the various food sources provided by the agricultural fields, as well as the shelter and cover provided by the hardwood forests. The deer travel along the draws and tree lines, making them a prime location for hunters to set up near. The hardwood forests offer excellent cover for deer, making it an ideal location for hunters to set up in tree stands and wait for deer to pass by. The dense tree lines also provide a rich source of food for deer, with a mix of deciduous species such as oaks, maples, and hickories, which produce acorns, nuts, and other food sources throughout the year.
