Bellyache Mountain is a DIY mule deer hunting property located in GMU 231. It consists of just under 1800 acres of private ground that borders almost 17,000 acres of National Forest and BLM land. This area was not hit as hard during the 2023 winter and did not experience as bad of winter kill as some of its neighboring units. With plenty of food found in hay fields and other grazing areas, as well as plenty of water in the area, this property holds a great population of deer. Use of an ATV is only permitted on designated paths, hunters are not allowed to use ATVs to go off trail and haul out game. Hunters who also have a bear tag must be aware that the harvest of a bear will come at an additional cost directly paid to the landowner. In addition, assistance hauling game off property may be provided to hunters at an additional cost paid directly to the landowner.

Mule Deer: Hay fields used for grazing, open parks and several sources of water. Bedding areas found in dark timber as well as quaking aspen trees.

5-7 day hunt depending on season.
Payment
Non-refundable reservation fee. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after Colorado draw results post, unless booking is made after those 2 weeks, in which case 50% will process immediately. The remaining 50% will be processed 1 month prior to your hunt.

Availability
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released. All big game hunts may be pre-booked for future seasons; reach out to IO to inquire.
Trespassing
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
