3 Nights 2 DaysElk Creek Upland is enrolled in the Nebraska CSA (Controlled Shoot Area) program, and offers guided pheasant hunts near Willis, Nebraska. Dakota County, is well-known for its pheasant habitat. This property consists of just over 400 acres of some of the most quality hunting ground available for pheasants. This hunt is a fully guided, 3-night, 2-day hunt with trained dogs, lodging, and meals included. The guiding will be provided through a 3rd party - Elk Creek Outfitters. There is a 2-person minimum requirement, and a 6-person maximum. All hunters will still need to obtain a Nebraska small game license in order to legally hunt. Also, although guided, hunters will need to provide their own equipment such as guns, ammunition, game vests, and anything else necessary for a fun and successful pheasant hunt. The property is enrolled in a Controlled shoot program and hunting can be done outside of regular pheasant season.
As mentioned before, Elk Creek Upland is a property that boasts some of the best hunting habitat in the region. CRP (Conservation Reserve Program) grass makes up a large portion of the property, which provides ideal roosting, nesting and brood-rearing habitat for upland birds. Pheasants thrive here in a mix of agricultural and natural landscapes. Due to its enrollment in the CSA program, hunters are bound to have the excitement of wild flushing birds throughout their hunt. Regulations in a CSA differ from that of regular hunting ground - seasons here run from September 1st through April 15th. Bag limits and other regulations are altered as well, so it is encouraged for all hunters to visit the Nebraska Game and Parks CSA page. That can be found in the sections below!
Non-Residents can purchase a CSA permit to hunt the preserve directly from the outfitter and do not need an out of state license but must purchase a $25 habitat stamp ahead of time.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will be due 7 days after reservation is made and is non-refundable with the remaining payment due 30 days before arrival. Deposits can be moved to another available date if there is a conflict and is also transferable to another hunter. If moved to another year the hunter may be responsible for the difference in rates.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein
