Duck Creek Flatts - Elk

Duck Creek Flatts is a DIY elk hunting property located south of Laramie Peak in Wyoming's coveted area 7. Consisting of just under 6,000 acres of private land, Duck Creek Flatts also borders several pieces of BLM, Wyoming State Land, and other areas enrolled in the Access Yes program. A main county road, as well as several available 2-tracks on the property can be utilized for traversing the entirety of the ranch - though it is asked of all hunters to not venture off of existing tracks or trails with motorized vehicles. This means that any downed game will need to be packed to the nearest road or 2-track to be loaded up and hauled off the property.

Duck Creek Flatts is a property that offers ample resources for a thriving elk population. Though lower in elevation throughout the majority of the property, hunters can find small peaks and valleys that will be utilized by both traveling and bedding elk. Also found on this ranch is water, and lots of it. Between several natural springs and roughly 3 miles of Duck Creek being present, elk herds do not have to venture far to find a drink. Of course, with water also comes rich vegetation that game in this area will graze on almost all year round. Due to a general lack of cover, hunters will have to be strategic on this property to get within shooting range.

Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt. All OTC hunts will require a 50% deposit of the outdoorsman fee at the time of booking as well. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.

Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needing made after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.

You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
